Bio:
Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770–1844) was a Danish sculptor and one of the leading figures of Neoclassicism in Europe. He worked primarily in Rome and produced a wide range of sculptures and reliefs inspired by classical antiquity. His works were widely reproduced in porcelain and biscuit by manufacturers such as Royal Copenhagen, making his motifs accessible to a broader audience.
