Painting, oil on canvas, lady in red folk costume with green stripes from Salling. This was painted in 1944.
A characteristic copy of one of the most famous masterpieces of Danish Golden Age art. "Shouldn't he come?" and was painted in 1847 by the famous Danish Golden Age artist Christen Dalsgaard (1824–1907). The original oil painting today belongs to the Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK) in Copenhagen. The painting depicts a young girl in a salling costume (folk costume), standing in an open farmhouse door and looking longingly out over the landscape while she knits.
